Description
This unusual 1980s 2-piece pantsuit combines harem- or dhoti-style cropped pants with a cropped, boxy jacket. The suit is made of very lightweight, slub-textured, off-white acetate and rayon blend fabric, with loops of black cording and prong-set clear rhinestones trimming the front of the jacket. The jacket has large foam shoulder pads and closes with white plastic buttons from the round neckline to the waist-length hem. Its bracelet-length sleeves are slightly tapered. The softly draped, tulip-shaped, pleated and cropped pant legs overlap in front below a wide waist panel. The pant fastens in back with a nylon zipper. The back section of the pant waist has elastic that is a bit over-stretched, but still has some give to it. Both pieces of the set are unlined. In very good condition, the set has one tiny flaw, other than the slightly over-stretched elastic: a small dark mark on the front of the jacket, as seen in my close-up photo. It is freshly dry-cleaned and ready to wear, with no other issues.
