Description
This late 1940s or early 1950s evening bag is made of lustrous and lovely black wool and mohair blend fabric, velvety soft to the touch. The bag is pouch-shaped, with a rounded base. The fabric body is gathered where it meets the brass-colored metal frame, which fastens with a large hinged clasp. The single, wide hand strap in matching fabric is knotted at the top. The handbag is lined with black rayon satin, with 2 slip pockets inside. This elegant black fabric evening bag is in very good condition—excellent to mint, except for one small scratch on the metal frame (see close-up photo). Although this true vintage, high-quality handbag dates to the 1940s or 50s, it is large enough to fit modern necessities like a cell phone. Its round shape can expand from around 3 to 5 inches deep, depending on how much stuff you want to stuff into it!
