This late 1950s or early 1960s swimsuit has an absolutely insane novelty print of tigers—tiger heads, paws and tails used in a design reminiscent of vintage tattoos! This bombshell-worthy one-piece vintage bathing suit can be worn with straps crossed in back or straight, and the strap length can be adjusted somewhat with the buttons and 3 buttonholes. The upper section, from bust to just below the waist is boned for shaping. Small, elasticized ruched panels in a triangular shape are inset under each arm, to allow some give at bust and ribcage. Otherwise, the finely ribbed, medium weight cotton or cotton blend fabric has no stretch, except for the elasticized leg openings. So the swimsuit was not really intended for swimming, I’d think—more for lounging by the pool in fabulous style! The swimsuit is fully lined with plain weave white cotton fabric, also with no stretch. The bust, ribcage and waist of the suit is structured by the boning in front only. The swimsuit suit closes in back with a metal zipper and heavy-duty metal hook and eye. The swimsuit appears hardly worn, if at all. Although I laundered it in cold water, there was a tiny bit of dye bleed onto the white cotton lining, so take care when washing. This very minor dye bleed, not seen when the suit is worn, is the only issue to note. It is in very good, near excellent condition. The label has been cut out; all that is still visible is the size: a vintage 12. I have seen this circa 1950s-1960s swimsuit labeled elsewhere as a Cole of California, but I can’t confirm this for certain. Regardless of its maker, this tiger novelty print true vintage swimsuit is pin-up or poolside ready! Rawr!

- Bust: 34 inches flat with a bit of extra room in the cups. Best for approx. 34-35 inches, or approx. 32B to 32C, or 34A.
- Waist: 26 inches flat with no stretch, to fit up to 25 inches max.
- Hip: 35 inches pulled flat, to fit up to 34 inches max.
- Length from top of strap to hem at side seams: 24 inches.
- Underarm to hem at side seams: 16 inches.
- Straps length: 16 inches fastened at tightest button (can be lengthened several inches from this).
- Rise: 11.5 inches front and 12.5 inches in back, for total of approx. 24 inches.
- Leg opening at thigh: max stretch 20 inches around, to fit best for approx. 19 inches or smaller.
