Description
This tall-crowned 1960s hat by G. Howard Hodge is made of a shiny, lightweight black raffia straw, braided into a lovely herringbone design! 2 gorgeous fuchsia silk poppies and a black rayon velvet ribbon trim the high, bucket-style crown. A fine black net, eye-length veil adds a bit more drama to this already fabulous hat. The tall crown is slightly indented about 2/3 of the way up from the base, where the ribbon band is attached. (See the underside/label photo, for an inside view of the crown shape.) The 5-inch tall hat is designed to sit up very high on the head when worn, as shown. It is lined with black mesh and has an inner band of black grosgrain. This striking black straw 1960s hat is in excellent condition.
