Description
This bright, sunny yellow cotton caftan style maxi dress from the late 1960s or early 70s was probably purchased on a trip to Mexico. The fuchsia and green floral embroidery is hand done, and includes matching fuchsia yarn tassels/ties at the wide, elbow-length sleeves and at the hem side slits. The bodice of the dress is gathered below the square neckline’s shoulder yoke, just above the bust. Intended for a loose, easy fit, the dress has no lining or fastenings, pulling on over the head. It is in very good condition, with 2 tiny spots and 1 small mend about waist high, near the left side seam (see photo). There is also a very faint horizontal mark on the back of the dress (see photo). The dress is smallest at the bust, making it best for a size XS to S, although it has more room at the waist and hips. This casually chic 1960-70s embroidered caftan dress is perfect for wearing poolside or at the beach, but will be equally fabulous for lounging at home.
