Description
A 1960s skirt suit in fabulous “snow leopard” print velveteen, this boxy jacket and pencil skirt set is the cat’s meow! The round-collared jacket has 2 fluffy rabbit-fur faux buttons—it actually fastens in front with tiny, hidden snaps. It has three-quarter-length sleeves and 2 slit pockets, just above the straight hem. The jacket is lined with lightweight tan fabric that feels rayon, or a rayon blend. The matching knee-length pencil skirt is unlined. It fastens with a hook at the waistband, plus a metal zipper, at the side seam. I think that the lightweight velveteen fabric is possibly a rayon and cotton or a cotton and acetate blend; the back side of the fabric feels a bit more slick than most cotton velveteen I have handled. The suit has no labels, but the nice workmanship, and the darling trim on the jacket’s inside pocket, make me think it was constructed by a skilled dressmaker. This eye-catching animal print 1960s skirt suit is in excellent condition, with no issues to note. The pencil skirt is proportionally smaller than the slightly boxy jacket—please note the relatively small hip measurement on the skirt.
