Description
This mid 1960s mini dress in black rayon velvet is lavishly trimmed with sparkly gold metallic lurex braid, embellished with iridescent aurora borealis rhinestones! The gold trim extends down from the V-neckline to the waist seam, which is slightly higher in front than it is in back. The sleeveless bodice features vertical bust darts for shaping. The skirt is a bit flared from hips to hem, not quite as wide at the hem as an A-line shape. The dress is fully lined in black rayon taffeta and closes with a metal zipper in back. A few of the prong-set rhinestones attached to the outer edge of the gold trim are missing where it has frayed a bit—see my close-up photo for one example. In very good condition, this fun and fabulous black velvet 1960s cocktail or party dress has no other issues to note.

- Bust: 40 inches flat with a bit of extra room in the cups. My best estimate is that is will fit 39-41 inches (approx. 36C to 38C max).
- Waist: 30 inches flat, to fit 29 inches max.
- Hip: 42 inches flat, to fit 39 inches max.
- Length: 37.5 inches from shoulder to hem in front.
- Underarm to waist at side seam: 7.5 inches.
