Description
Made of a beautiful blend of silk and wool fibers, alaskine was a popular fabric for cocktail and evening wear in the 1960s. This black and mocha striped alaskine jacket has the fabric’s lovely surface sheen and relatively lightweight feel, perfect for layering over your favorite little black dress or evening outfit! The simple and elegant jacket closes in front with faceted black glass buttons, below the contrasting, plain mocha notched lapels. The overall fit is a bit boxy, with bust darts for subtle shaping. The jacket hem ends just the natural waist, with a v-shaped notch in the center front. The straight sleeves are three-quarter length. The jacket is unlined, but the satiny back side of the alaskine fabric looks and feels a lot like like a lining (see inside of jacket photo). This elegant and versatile 1960s striped evening jacket is in excellent condition, with no issues to note.
