Description
This black rayon crepe 1940s cocktail dress has darling rows of ruffles creating a flirty peplum! The rows of rayon chiffon ruffles, in front only, are set below an attached satin ribbon “sash” waistband. The bodice features tiny cap sleeves and small gathers at the top of each shoulder, next to the V-shaped neckline. Curved darts with tiny gathers arch upward from the waist to just below the bust. The skirt is cut straight and relatively narrow. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in the side seam. The lightweight crepe fabric is unlined, and semi-sheer, so you may want a slip underneath. In very good condition, this true vintage, WWII-era 1940s cocktail dress has 1 issue to note: 2 holes in the skirt at the right front (see close-up photos). It has been freshly dry cleaned, and seems quite sturdy, other than the 2 tiny holes. Please check the measurements carefully, since this cutie is very small!
