Description
This dreamy early 1980s dress is inspired by Edwardian fashions, with its high, ruched collar and sheer mesh lace shoulder yoke with floral appliqués and dainty embroidery. The blouson bodice is gathered under the illusion shoulder yoke and at the elastic waist, to give it a softly full silhouette. The wide, ruched sash, in the same off-white sheer polyester chiffon fabric as the dress, ties on in back over this narrow elastic waistband. The semi-full skirt flares out from waist to hem. The long sleeves are gathered at the shoulders, with a full shape down the ruched, fitted cuffs. Both the sleeve cuffs and the high neckline are fastened with plastic pearl buttons and loops. The buttons remind me of a wedding gown. This sweetly feminine off-white chiffon and lace 80s dress would certainly be lovely for a wedding shower or other bridal event. You will probably want a slip underneath, since the lightweight fabric is quite sheer. Its size is somewhat adjustable due to the elastic at the waist—see measurement below. It is in excellent condition.
