Description

An Asian-style 1970s blouse or jacket in bright lipstick red silk, this tunic-length top has lovely silk floral embroidery at collar, cuffs and hem, as well as down the front opening. The top closes in front with tiny silk pankou knots or frogs, from the high collar to about waist level. The embroidery in a matching shade of vibrant red is applied on panels of the same silk fabric as the rest of the top, with piped trim. The overall shape of the top is meant to be loose and flares out somewhat from bust to hem. The wide, kimono-style sleeves are three-quarter-length. The lightweight silk satin fabric is fully lined with an even lighter-weight red silk. Freshly dry-cleaned and in very good, near excellent condition, the top has several extremely faint marks on the left sleeve—too faint to show well even in my close-up photo. This Asian-inspired silk blouse or jacket could be worn for a fancy evening event, or for just lounging glamorously around the house! Labeled a vintage size medium, it is approximately a modern size small to medium, depending on how loosely you prefer it to fit (see measurements).
