Description

This deadstock black and red stripe cotton blouse from the late 1950s or early 1960s has a cropped, boxy fit with a drawstring to cinch the waist. The wide v-neckline skims just below the collarbone. The top fastens down the front with shiny black plastic buttons, above the drawstring waist tie. You can use this tie to adjust the fit of the blouse hem: loose and longer, or tighter and higher up. The wide, elbow-length dolman sleeves have cuffs with the fabric print turned horizontally instead of vertically—a nice detail! The unlined, heavier-weight polished cotton fabric has a lovely, smooth hand and a bit of sheen to its surface. The top is in excellent to mint condition, still crisp with its original fabric finish. Labeled a vintage size 16, it should fit approximately a modern M to L with a loose, boxy silhouette. Pair this never worn, casual late 1950s or early 1960s cotton top with black capri pants for a very of-the-era look!
