Description
This lipstick red cotton poplin 1950s blouse features rows of vertical pintucks adding texture to its front side. The blouse has a small notched collar, cuffed three-quarter sleeves, and a pinked hem, designed to be worn tucked in. The front opening and sleeves are fastened with dark gray shell buttons. A single button trims the decorative front chest pocket (non-functional). Diagonal bust darts and darts at the back waist created a gently fitted silhouette. 2 small pleats add fullness below the back shoulder yoke, and tiny pleats also add a bit of fullness to each sleeve above the fitted cuffs. The lightweight cotton is unlined. This versatile, tailored 1950s blouse is in very good condition—excellent except for 1 replacement plastic button on the left sleeve cuff (see close-up photo), which is a close match to the originals. My last photo shows the blouse unclipped from the mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.
