Description
A plaid cotton 1950s dress in candy pink, olive green, lavender, and blue-gray, this versatile cutie appeared to be deadstock, although I did launder it for freshness. The gently fitted bodice features cap sleeves and cartridge pleating with white trim around its square neckline. Vertical darts shape the bust area. A tiny bow trims the top of a row of functional black plastic buttons, fastening the dress from neckline to hem. The skirt is flaring and full, shown here with an added crinoline, which is not included. The dress has one hidden skirt pocket, in the right side seam. The matching belt is present. The dress’s lightweight, plain weave cotton fabric is unlined. In excellent to mint condition, this sweet 1950s cotton day dress appears unworn. My last photo shows the dress unclipped from the mannequin.
