Description
A deadstock 1960s 3-piece pant suit in pale pink, olive green, and off-white glen plaid linen by Bill Atkinson for Glen of Michigan—what could be more perfect for spring? The suit offers several pairings: wear the hip-length, long and lean, 3-button suit jacket with either the matching cuffed, straight leg pant or the high-waisted, wide-leg culotte style shorts. Or, of course, wear each piece separately! The medium-weight 100% linen fabric has a slightly slub-textured weave. The shorts open at the waist on both sides with shell buttons, similar to a sailor pant. The cuffed trousers have a nylon zip fly in front, and tab and shell button at the waist. Both bottoms feature darts at the waist for shaping, and both are unlined. The jacket has notched lapels, a slit at the back of the hem, and 3 shell buttons to close it in front. The jacket only is lined with pink rayon crepe. Because the set was originally sold as separates, the 3 pieces are each marked with a different size. The jacket is the smallest at 8, the shorts are marked 10, and the pant is largest, marked vintage size 14. Please bear this in mind when reviewing the measurements for each piece. It will be easier to tailor the pants to a smaller size, if needed--or if you are a person who is smaller on top, you may not need to do so. In excellent to mint condition, unworn, this pink plaid 1960s vintage pantsuit is a fabulously preppy 3-piece ensemble, great for mixing and matching!
