This 1950s blouse and capri pants set features the prettiest pink and cream floral print cotton fabric. A fabulous bouquet of blooms! The scoop neck, cap sleeve blouse has multiple darts to shape the fit at bust, waist and hip-length hem. The matching, slightly cropped pant has a high, fitted waistband, a long rise, and darts to shape the curvy hips. The legs have a relatively loose fit from hip to knee, and then taper gently from the knee to just above the ankle. (Similar in shape to a modern barrel-leg pant, but with a higher waist and a longer rise.) Both pieces of the set are fastened with metal zippers at the side seams, and the pant waist has an additional snap fastener at the waistband. This true vintage floral print 1950s top and pants 2-piece set is very shabby chic meets mid-century! In very good condition, the set has a few pale brownish marks that are fairly well disguised by the busy print (see close-up photos), and the tiniest bit of pink dye bleed. I recommend either hand washing or washing it separately, for this reason. The mid-weight, plain weave cotton fabric is quite sturdy and held up very well to laundering by me, but you would not want any of its bright pink dye to transfer to your other clothing! The set has no labels and may have been home sewn; it was quite well made by a skilled seamstress, if so. The measurements will fit best for an hourglass figure: see below for details about fit. Both pieces of this fantastic set can also be mixed and matched with other items, if you’d prefer to tone down the impact of the bold floral print.
