Description
This deadstock, authentic vintage, larger child’s-sized (or XXS small adult) 1950s cotton circle skirt has an adorable mid-century novelty print! The lightweight, plain weave, white cotton fabric is printed with golden yellow, teal green, and black pineapple designs. The wide waistband fastens with 2 buttons above the side seam metal zipper. The skirt fabric is gathered into the flat waistband, adding extra fullness the shape. The skirt waist has elastic at the back section only, for a slightly adjustable fit. Labeled a vintage kid’s or tween size 10, the skirt will also fit a modern XXS adult, I’d estimate (see waist measurement). In very good condition, unworn with its original hangtag, the skirt has a bit of discoloration along the fold at the back right side from its long storage, and one small grayish spot (see photos) but no other issues to note. I think the faint mark along the fold will improve with its first washing, but I have not laundered the skirt in order to preserve its original fabric finish. Great for a costumer or collector of vintage novelty prints, this deadstock 1950s circle skirt is shown here without any additional crinoline underneath. It just fits tightly on my adult-sized mannequin, who has a 24-inch waist.
