Description
This crosshatch-carved, over-dyed Bakelite bangle from the 1930s or 1940s also has 2 deep grooves cut into its surface—there is a lot of fun texture going on with this butterscotch beauty. The crosshatched surface reminds me of snakeskin, or maybe a pineapple! While the carved outer surface is a darker butterscotch shade, the inner surface of the bangle shows the base color: a golden yellow. Nearly 1 inch wide, this is a chunky and heavy bangle bracelet. In very good, near excellent condition, the bangle shows a bit of wear to the over-dye from normal use, and 1 tiny scuff (or faint carving flaw) on its inner surface, which is not seen when the bracelet is worn (see close-up photo).
- Bangle width: 9/10 of an inch.
