Description

This lightweight, open-weave natural straw hat from the late 1930s or 1940s features a wide band of lush black rayon velvet, fashioned into a front bow with wired edges. The golden straw crown and brim are woven of thicker and thinner strands of straw that create a unique texture. The hat’s brim is widest at the center front, narrowing to the center back. The gently curved crown is unlined, aside from a black grosgrain ribbon inner band. I believe that this schoolgirl-style straw hat was originally designed to be worn as shown, tilted straight back from the forehead, although you can certainly wear it at more of angle, if you prefer! This true vintage, 1930s-40s straw hat is in excellent condition, with no issues to note note. Its neutral, golden tan and black color palette will pair well with many outfits!

  • Brim width: 3 inches at center front, narrowing to 1 inch at center back.
  • Crown height: 3 inches.
  • Inner circumference: 20 inches around inner band.
