Description
This black wool, late 1960s extra long vest and miniskirt set by American designer Anne Klein is a perfectly mod skirt suit—space age chic meets timeless tailoring! Dating from the early period of Klein’s own label, circa 1968-1971, the 2-piece suit features a long, zip-front vest that completely covers the matching miniskirt when it is fully zipped. The vest has a v-neckline above the silver metal zipper, a welted pocket at each hip, and a black acetate satin lining. The miniskirt has a clean, no-waistband design, slightly curved, with darts for shaping, and a side metal zip closure. It is subtly flared from hip to hem. The skirt is also fully lined, with black acetate taffeta. The lower section of the vest is larger than the skirt, to fit loosely over it when both pieces are worn—see measurements. The woven black wool is quite substantial, similar to that used for medium-weight coats and jackets. The suit is shown here with a bright yellow 1960s blouse, which is not included. This marvelously mod 1960s vest skirt suit by Anne Klein is in excellent condition.
