Description
This vibrant, dayglo pink and orange tropical floral print 1970s halter dress by Malia is a super-groovy take on a vintage Hawaiian maxi dress! The empire-waist, halter-neck bodice has a fitted inset panel below the bust, trimmed with 3 decorative buttons. The halter straps button closed behind the neck and at the back of the underbust panel (2 buttonholes to adjust strap length slightly). Below the 3 functional buttons and loops at the empire waist or underbust panel, the dress fastens in back with a nylon zipper. More loose-fitting than the high-waisted bodice, the skirt is gently flared to the hem, with small gathers where it meets the underbust panel. The natural waist is not at all fitted, perfectly comfy to wear for a fabulous dinner party! The lightweight polyester crepe floral fabric is semi-sheer, fully lined with bright pink poly-cotton blend fabric. The original molded foam cups in the triangular bust panels were disintegrating, so I removed them. Then I hand-stitched down all the edges of the bodice where they were located. From the inside of the bodice you can see where they were removed (see photo), but this is invisible from the outside when the dress is worn. In very good condition, this fabulous 70s maxi dress by Malia has one other minor issue to note: a small area of wear to the surface of the crepe fabric at the back right hip (see close-up photo). This appears stable, and was not affected at all when I laundered the dress with reasonable care.

- Bust: will fit approx. 32 inches.
- Cups: 8.5 inches tall and 7 inches across base of triangle shape.
- Underbust/ribcage: 27 inches flat, to fit max. 26.
- Hip: approx. 40 inches flat measured at lining fabric, to fit loosely up to 37.
- Width at hem: 51 inches flat.
- Length: 55 inches from back of halter neck to hem.
