Description

A sweet novelty print of chestnut brown and aqua blue leaves on a creamy beige background makes this deadstock 1950s dress perfect for fall! The lightweight, finely ribbed taffeta fabric is a blend of cotton and acetate, with a slight sheen to its surface. The mocha piping trim around the scoop neck line and arm openings feels like fine linen, although it is also cotton and acetate. Diagonal bust darts and small vertical darts just above the waist shape the sleeveless bodice. Several tiny pleats add a bit of fullness to the skirt below the front waist seam. The unlined dress is fastened with a side seam metal zipper. This unworn, novelty print 1950s sheath dress is in excellent to mint condition, freshly dry-cleaned, with no flaws to note. My last 2 photos show the dress both unpinned from the mannequin and unbelted, to give a better idea of its actual size.
