Description
This golden yellow beaded 1960s cocktail dress set combines a shift-style knee-length dress with a short, boxy jacket. The shift dress has the tiniest cap sleeves—essentially sleeveless, and darts at the bust and back waist for subtle shaping. The dress hem has small side slits. The front bodice is embellished with gold glass beads in a crisscross pattern with small knots and loops. Although the dress is unlined, the mid-weight, slub-textured fabric (probably a blend of acetate and rayon) is satin-backed. It fastens with a plastic zipper in back. The matching jacket has small lapels, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a curved front hem. It has no fastenings, and it is lined with bright yellow acetate taffeta. In very good condition, this beaded 1960s dress and jacket set has only 1 minor issue to note: 2 tiny, pinhole-sized marks on the left front of the jacket, unlikely to be noticed when it is worn (see close-up photo).
