Description
This deadstock 1960s cocktail dress in gold and aqua blue brocade has a lovely floral design woven into the shiny surface of the acetate satin fabric. The classic sheath dress style features a high, round neckline, bust darts and small gathers above the waist to shape the sleeveless bodice, and a narrow skirt with vertical darts to shape the hips, below the fitted waist seam. The back skirt hem has a kick pleat for greater ease of walking, or dancing! A matching fabric sash belt can be used to cinch the waist. The medium-weight satin brocade fabric is unlined. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. This true vintage, deadstock 1960s dress is in very good condition, with a small mark near the right side seam, and a very hard-to-see, small area of discoloration from its long storage at the top of the left shoulder (see close-up photos). Although the dress was never worn and still has its original hangtags attached, I have had it dry-cleaned for freshness.
