Description
A deadstock, unworn 1960s party dress in floral metallic gold brocade and white chiffon, this classic cocktail dress has a fitted sleeveless bodice and semi-full, pleated skirt. Vertical bust darts shape the bodice, and a matching fabric belt with front bow cinches the waist seam. Both the bodice and skirt are lined in off-white taffeta. According to the original paper hangtag, the sheer chiffon (or georgette) is rayon. The taffeta lining also feels like rayon, and I suspect the metallic brocade bodice is a rayon and acetate blend. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. The belt snaps closed and can be adjusted slightly. Although this early 1960s dress was never worn and is in excellent to mint condition with no issues to note, I have had it dry-cleaned for freshness after its long storage.
