Description

This 1950s dress with full skirt has a pattern of pretty daisies woven into its copper-orange and black, iridescent rayon taffeta fabric. The bodice features an unusual, draped neckline that may have once been tacked down in some way to the narrow panel of self-fabric lining it. The center draped section falls from small pleats at each side of the neckline opening. The full, straight sleeves are just below elbow-length, with darts at the elbows, and gathers that create a little puff at each shoulder. The skirt flares out from the fitted waist seam, shown here with a full and fluffy crinoline underneath that is not included. The crisp, lightweight taffeta fabric is unlined, except for the small panel backing the draped neckline. The dress fastens with a side seam metal zipper. In fair, fixable condition, it has 2 issues to note: A mend at the top left shoulder, and a missing tooth in the metal zipper. The mend is not professional, but not terribly noticeable, either. However, the zipper will need to to be replaced for this 1950s cocktail dress to be worn. It has been priced accordingly, freshly dry-cleaned and still lovely!
