Description

Fully beaded with copper glass seed beads, these early 1960s evening shoes are quite spectacular! The 2.5-inch-high heels or pumps (or court shoes for the English among you) are leather lined, with leather soles. I suspect that the beaded uppers are fabric, underneath the beads, although there is not enough exposed to be certain of that. The shoes have almond-shaped toes (softly pointed) and tapered, moderate-height heels. They look fairly comfortable, as far as mid-century evening shoes go, BUT they are a quite narrow size. Labeled 8AAA, they will fit on my size 8.5 narrow foot, but are a bit too short. I would estimate them as a modern 7.5 to 8 narrow: please check the measurements for details about fit and compare them to similarly-styled shoes that fit you well. In good, perfectly wearable condition, the heels are missing a few beads around the base of the left heel, and a few more on the outer vamp of the left shoe (see close-up photos). Both shoes have an indentation at the toe on their leather soles—perhaps they previously had metal toe taps that have been removed. There is also a small section of the left shoe insole at the heel that is missing its outer, printed layer. These fabulously beaded 1960s party shoes will be a real find for the lady lucky enough to fit in them!
