This 70s denim cowgirl snap-front shirt features a yoke and sleeves of printed cream rayon crepe with an insanely fun novelty print: images from a comic entitled Amazone. The Amazone (or Amazon—like Wonder Woman!) herself appears dressed in a 1950s-60s leopard-print bikini (of course!) and seems to be ready for (romantic) adventure in the jungle (of course!). I was unable to find any info about the original for this design, but it looks a lot like mid-century vintage adventure-themed comic strips or comic books. This unique 1970s blouse was made in Paris by the brand Monica, with a cute little heart over the i in their logo. The heavyweight cotton denim is a medium shade of stonewashed blue. The snaps at the front and sleeve cuffs are made of silvertone metal with mother-of-pearl plastic centers. The sleeves are about bracelet-length on my mannequin, perhaps full-length for a petite. Curving darts at the back of the blouse shape the waist and hips, giving it a close-to-the-body fit. The curved, shirttail-style hem in unfinished. This denim and novelty print 70s cowboy shirt is unlined. A few areas of the printed crepe appear slightly faded from normal wear and cleaning; I recommend dry-cleaning only for this blouse, because of the rayon crepe. The underside of the denim body of the blouse shows a few faintly yellowed marks, which are not seen from the outside when it is worn. Also, there is a just a bit of fading to the edges of the underarms (see close-up photos). Freshly dry-cleaned, with no odors or other issues to note, this fabulous novelty print denim snap-front 70s shirt can also be worn unsnapped in front, and a lightweight jacket. It is quite small, especially at the shoulders, upper arms, and sleeve cuffs, so the shirt may fit best for a size petite extra small (see detailed measurements, below).
