Description

A deadstock 1960s blouse in crisp, greenish-tan and off-white cotton gingham, this short-sleeved button-up top has orange cherries embroidered all over it. Not sure why the cherries pattern fabric was used upside down—but it’s still very cute! The blouse features a notched collar, sleeves that can be cuffed up or not, and pearly plastic buttons fastening it down the front. Diagonal bust darts and vertical darts at the front and black waist add shaping. The hip-length hem is straight, to be worn tucked in or untucked, as you prefer. Unworn and in near excellent condition, this gingham check 1960s top has one tiny issue: a small pull in the weave at the left front—probably a manufacturing flaw, and unlikely to be noticed when it is worn. See close-up photo. It is labeled a vintage size 38, but the blouse appears a bit larger than that, approximately a modern medium to large, based on the measurements. My last photo shows the blouse unpinned from the mannequin.
