Description
Beautifully tailored in Hong Kong, this luxuriously soft, charcoal gray cashmere men’s coat from the 1970s has a relatively slim silhouette, with shoulders that are just slightly padded. The three-quarter-length coat is single-breasted with a 3-button closure, wide notched lapels, a deep slit at the center back hem, and 2 flap pockets at the waist. Inside are 2 additional breast pockets with buttoned flaps. The coat is lined with shadow-stripe black rayon satin. The tailor, Ying Tai Ltd., had shops in both the Hong Kong Peninsula Hotel and the Hilton, so the coat was purchased at one or the other. It was custom-made for the original owner in 1973, according to the label. This classic men’s three-quarter-length cashmere overcoat would have been a fairly conservative style for the era, quite timeless in fact! It is in excellent condition, professionally cleaned and ready to wear. Due to its smaller size, I have included a hip measurement to give a better idea of unisex fit.
