Description
A tunic-length cardigan sweater set from the 1990s, this merino wool blend pair features a burgundy argyle-patterned, lightweight knit with accents of mauve, blue and black. The black and brighter burgundy diamonds have a subtle, bouclé texture, while the rest of the knit is smooth. The long sleeve mock-neck pullover sweater has ribbed trim at the fitted cuffs, and a banded hem. The matching cardigan is a bit longer length, to drape nicely over the pullover, with 2 small hip pockets and banded trim at the sleeves and hem. Both pieces are unlined, with no fastenings, and have some stretch. The sweaters were made in Italy, so their label lists the fiber content in several European languages. The soft, semi-sheer, lightweight knit is a blend of mostly merino wool (lana merino) and acrylic (polyacrylic) fibers with a touch of rayon (viscose). Both sweaters have dropped shoulder seams, and a loose, unconstructed silhouette. They will therefore fit a variety of sizes, depending on your preferred fit.
