Description
This deadstock late 1970s or early 1980s day dress in black with white polka dots personifies the look of a stylish 80s secretary: appropriate for work, but fancy enough to wear out for a cocktail after hours! The surplice V-neck bodice and gathered sleeves are accented with white trim to match the screen-printed polka dots. The lightweight black polyester crepe fabric is semi-sheer, so you may want to wear a slip or tights underneath. The puffed, gathered shoulders have tiny shoulder pads, or shoulder lifts. Hidden by the adjustable black patent vinyl belt, the dress waist is elastic—see measurements for waist size range. Below the waist, the skirt is just slightly flared from hips to hem. The only fastenings are shiny black plastic buttons on each sleeve cuff. The dress pulls on over the head. In excellent to mint condition, unworn, this late 70s-early 80s dress is labeled a vintage size 20, and should fit approximately a modern large. Please see the detailed measurements for more size information. My last 2 photos show the dress unpinned to the mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.
