Description
The ultimate vintage Valentine’s Day look, this full-skirted 1950s cocktail dress in black cotton blend velveteen is appliqued with red embroidered hearts! Tiny red hearts trim the deep V neckline, and 1 large and 2 smaller hearts adorn each side of the sleeveless bodice near the fitted waist. The dress is shown here with a very full crinoline underneath that is not included; it can also be worn without one if you prefer. The dress has curved bodice seams to shape the bust area, and a single pocket set into the right side seam. The left side seam opens with a metal zipper. The medium-weight velveteen fabric is unlined, with a smooth back that feels like cotton blend. In very good condition, the dress has several tiny mends in the velvety fabric: 1 at the left side of the skirt, a smaller 1 just above the right side seam pocket, and a tiny mend near the skirt hem. The texture of the fabric helps to disguise these a bit, and I think only the mend at the left side of the skirt would be noticeable when it is worn (see close-up photos). Freshly cleaned and ready to wear, this classic 1950s fit-and-flare style will be the perfect vintage Valentine’s Day date dress!
