Description
This tuxedo-style, black velvet and chiffon late 1980s or early 1990s halter mini dress will be perfect for holidays parties or New Year’s Eve! The halter-neck bodice is made of black rayon velvet and shaped like a backless vest, with tiny rhinestones for faux buttons and a rhinestone and silver-tone metal bow tie trimming the neck. The small stand collar (like a tuxedo shirt collar) and the flounced, flirty miniskirt are made of sheer black acetate chiffon with a subtle sparkle finish. Both halves of the dress are lined with black rayon satin. Curved seaming shapes the bodice, which fastens at the back of the neck with 2 buttons and loops, and a center back nylon zipper. In very good condition, recently dry-cleaned and ready to wear, the dress does have a bit of fading to the velvet, only at the back of the neck, next to the buttons (see last/close-up photo). The bodice will fit best for a more busty person—you can see this in my side view close-up photo, where it is unclipped from the mannequin.
