Description

A deadstock, never worn 1950s cardigan shrug, this lightweight black acrylic knit cropped sweater features silver glass and white pearl beading on its right front side. The cardigan fastens with a single button at the neck. Scalloped ribbed trim finishes the high neck, three-quarter sleeves, and the curved, cropped hem. The sweater should fall to about the high waist or lower ribcage when worn. The sleeves have an unusual shape, like subtle bishop sleeves, with a small puff at the back of each elbow just above the fitted cuffs. Although the cardigan was never worn, with its original tag still attached, I did launder it for freshness. I also mended one tiny hole at the left front shoulder, invisible now, but worth mentioning. In very good condition, this cute deadstock 1950s black shrug cardigan is unlined except for the mesh backing behind the beaded trim.
