Description
This black and red pinstripe early 80s drop-waisted dress in sheer chiffon has a teeny-tiny novelty print of white dots and arrows. The contrasting sash or scarf repeats the dots and arrows print more densely, in white on black. The blouson bodice features a shoulder yoke and puffed sleeves that are gathered into fitted cuffs at the hem. The dropped waist seam (at about high hip level) is gathered, to create moderate fullness in the knee-length skirt section. Unlined and with no fastenings other than the sleeve cuff buttons, the dress is will need to pull on over the head. In very good condition, the it has one tiny mend on the edge of the right sleeve cuff (see close-up photo). The lightweight polyester chiffon fabric is quite sheer, so you may want to wear a slip or half-slip underneath. The long scarf or sash can be worn a number of ways: I like it either tied at the dropped waist, or tied at the neck, both of which make the most of the 1920s-meets-80s style of this pinstriped little black dress.
