Description
This late 70s or early 80s, disco-era evening dress by designer Adolfo is a black knit maxi with a revealing side slit and flame-like beaded trim, for extra fabulousness! The mid-weight rib knit wool or wool-blend sweater dress has a section of wider-gauge ribbed trim around the top of each sleeve. The bracelet-length sleeves are quite full at the shoulder, before tapering to the wrist. The iridescent glass beading and purple rhinestones are appliquéd to the right of the scoop neckline and over the left hip, with small gathers in the knit wool fabric below each appliqué. The left side seam has a knee-high hem slit. The dress fastens in back with nylon zipper and is unlined. There is some stretch to the wool knit fabric, as seen in my range of measurements. The dress originally belonged to a wealthy Chicago socialite, and was probably worn only once. In excellent condition, freshly dry-cleaned and with no flaws to note, this late 1970s maxi dress by Adolfo is ready to make an entrance at your next party or event!
