Description
A traditional Tibetan collar-style necklace, this beaded beauty combines smaller, natural orange-red coral beads with larger, warm red glass beads, cowrie shells, and chips of turquoise set in a brass medallion at the center front. The large, 3-dimensional collar necklace fastens in back with adjustable fabric ties, attached to the black cotton fabric base. It is difficult to date, as traditional style, but the original owner had other jewelry dating from the 1960s to the 1990s, so I would guess that it falls into the latter part of that time range, circa 1980s-90s. This bold statement necklace from Tibet is in excellent condition.
